The Aji Fantasy White pepper is a mild, sweet, and citrusy variety of the Capsicum baccatum species. It was developed in Europe and is known for its prolific production of uniquely shaped, creamy-white pods.
- Species: Capsicum baccatum.
- Flavor: Sweet, fruity, and tangy, with distinct citrus undertones that are brighter than the original yellow Aji Fantasy.
- Heat: Mild, ranging from approximately 1,000–5,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Most of the heat is concentrated in the seeds and placenta, so removing the insides will result in a nearly heat-free experience.
- Origin: The white variant was developed from the Aji Fantasy, which was created by Fatalii Seeds in Finland. There is also a natural mutation that was discovered by a grower in the Canary Islands.
- Appearance: Distinctive, flattened, lantern-shaped pods that measure 1–2 inches long and ripen from pale green to a creamy ivory-white.
